My wife and I were on the way (in separate cars) to the doctor’s office and boom. Some guy driving his wife’s Camry said his work boots are too big and they slipped off the brake.
We’ll be getting a new rear bumper and bumper guard.

How does having greater surface area make his boots more prone to slipping off the brake pedal?

Trying not to hit the gas pedal, plus they are heavier. I’ve had it happen.

Then take your work boots off dumb ass. Thats why I dont drive with my steel toe boots on. I cant feel anything and I press the brake and accel with my extra wide feet :)

I’m not too heartbroken since our rear bumper was already scratched to shit from where she backed into the fence at our old house. Yay new bumper.

He could* be lying, but I have gotten steel toed boots stuck between my clutch pedal and brake pedal whist gliding towards a solid slab of concrete in my garage. I pulled the e-brake.

He apologized profusely and was really nice. I felt sorry for him because he was on his way to the doctor’s office it happened in front of. He sounded like he had a horrible cold. Made his bad day worse, I'm sure. But, I'm just glad above all that no one was hurt.
